Life on Mission
Our next church-wide study, “Life on Mission” kicks-off Sunday, April 7 with pastor and author Tim Harlow! Join us during one of our church service times; 8:00AM, 9:15AM and 10:45AM!

Note from Tim Harlow:
“Your mission, should you choose to accept it…”
Our backyard is now the largest and most diverse mission field in the world. It’s almost as if God said, “Well, if My people are going to slack off from going to the world, I’m going to bring the world to them!”
I can almost bet your neighborhood is multi-cultural. The people on your street may speak different languages and live different lives than you do, but they are exactly the people Jesus had in mind when He said, “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19).
Now we know that “all nations” means the world – to the very ends of the earth. But I think we’ve forgotten that it also means the house next door, the end of the block, and around the corner.
It’s time to refocus our lives and redefine what it means to live a life on mission. We haven’t been given a new mission.
We’ve been given a chance to re-engage with the longing of God’s heart – to transform lives by bringing heaven to earth today, and earth to heaven for eternity.
Take this opportunity to meet with other Christians and to encourage one another to lovingly reach out, in word and in deed, to the people around you.
Ask God to help you discover what He has planned for you: a Life on Mission.
Glad we’re doing this together!
-Tim Harlow
Easter Weekend
This year, two of our favorite weekends will combine (Easter & Baptism Weekend) for an unforgettable weekend in our Church’s history! Due to our incredible growth over the past year, we do not see any way we could hold our services at 1C from a parking and seating standpoint. So we will move to Midwest Athletic Center (Old MacMurray Gym, 409 Hardin St.) for Easter Sunday! We also changed the service times to allow enough time in between services for people to exit before the next arrive, so please note that.
What does this look like?
When:
Thursday, March 28th at 6:00 pm: Easter/Baptism service at 1C
Sunday, March 31st:
8:00 am: Traditional Easter service. (Different from Baptism Service) Former Senior Pastor J. Cook will be preaching at 1C
9:00 am: Easter/Baptism service at MAC gymnasium
11:00 am: Easter/Baptism service at MAC gymnasium (interpreted for the deaf & hard of hearing)
Additional Features:
Photo area for family pictures
Free Coffee and donuts.
Childcare will be available for kids aged birth-three years old.
Baptism Registration:
There is nothing better than seeing God work on the hearts of individuals and seeing them respond in baptism! Over the past five years, we have seen hundreds of people make the best decisions of their lives, and we can't wait to see what God has in store this year! If you have been considering baptism and are ready to make that decision, you can sign up today.
If you have questions or want more information on Baptism, you can email us at info@1c.church

FIRST STEP
When you're new to a church, finding what you're looking for can be tricky.
That's why we host First Step, a fun, informative connection event, designed to help newcomers find their people and their place at 1C.
Shane will share the vision and mission of the church and you can see where you fit into the mix. You will meet some of the staff of 1C and have the opportunity to have a guided tour of the facility. We know your time is valuable so we won't keep you for more than an hour.
We hope you will join us for our next First Step, Sunday, December 17th at 11:45 in Life Group room #5. Free childcare is provided. To reserve your spot email misty@1c.church
LEGACY BUILDER CHRISTMAS PARTY
Legacy Builder Christmas Party (lunch/program) is Wednesday, December 6th at 11:30 a.m. Mark & Pam Fisher, Southern Gospel Music duo, will sing some of our favorite Christmas music. Bella Events (Autumne Willner) will provide lunch. $10 tickets are on sale from November 1st to December 3rd.
OUT OF TOWNER'S MEETING
Over the past two years, we've experienced significant growth in our church! As we dove deeper into our numbers, we've discovered that many of our members travel over 30 minutes to join us each week.
To better serve you and your families, we invite you to our "Out-of-Towners" Meeting on November 5th at 11:45 AM in the Worship Center.
This event is a vital opportunity for open dialogue. We want to hear your perspectives on how we can enhance our ministry for out-of-town members and create a stronger sense of community throughout the week. We'll also share some of our ideas and seek your valuable feedback.
Your input will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our church and guiding our decisions for 2024. Together, we can ensure that 1C remains a place of spiritual growth and support for all, regardless of the distance you travel to be with us.
Mark your calendars, and please feel free to invite others who may benefit from this gathering. We hope to see you there!
YOUNG ADULTS
We are starting a Young Adults Ministry! The first gathering is Friday, October 27th! Doors open at 5:30 PM on the North side of the building in The Coffee Shop! This will be a great time of fellowship and worship! Join us Friday!
