WHO IS 1C?

We are First Christian Church, but around here most people call us 1C. We are a community of people learning how to live out the life God has called us to live, together and in real, everyday ways. Everything we do is shaped by the core values below, which guide how we love God, love others, and serve our community.

Life is better in community

We believe we were never meant to live life or follow Jesus alone. Real growth happens when we share life together through relationships that encourage, support, and challenge us. Community helps us celebrate the good, walk through the hard, and grow stronger in our faith together.
SERVING
Following the example of Jesus

We believe serving is a way of life, not just something we do. When we serve others with humility and love, we reflect Christ, strengthen our faith, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those around us.

Anticipating God to do the impossible, we depend on prayer as the foundation of everything we do. Through prayer, we seek God’s guidance, trust His power, and invite Him to move in ways only He can.

WHERE WE ARE HEADING

We believe church should feel like family, a place where anyone can belong, find purpose, and take their next step with Jesus. Our heart is connecting unconnected people to Jesus Christ and helping every person discover who He is, how much He loves them, and what life with Him can look like.

As we look ahead, we are continuing to create spaces where people can encounter God in real and meaningful ways. Whether it’s through Sunday services, life groups, or serving in our community, we want to see people grow deeper in faith and stronger in relationships.

The future of 1C is all about reaching more people, raising up new leaders, and being a church that lives out the love of Jesus beyond our walls, right here in Jacksonville, and beyond.
